What is all this far left stuff about? If you are alive, can see and hear, you’ve heard a lot recently about the Far Left of the Democratic party. It has a variety of alternate names such as DSA (Democratic Socialists of America), Socialism, Progressivism, Communism, Radical Islam. Although differing in claims and appeal, they all have one thing in common: they want to change, modify, replace, revise, eliminate the bedrock beliefs of this country. They believe that 250 years of ever improving freedom, achievement and equality has failed, and that they have a better way.
The common thread in all these “isms” is authoritative control. They believe that the untutored masses, you and I, are better served by a select group of elitists who will provide a shrink-wrapped happiness for us all. This means that the government runs the show. You and I better play along. Religious beliefs don’t count, particularly if they conflict with the government mandates. All contrary speech, ideas and protests are scorned. Get in line or get gone.
Many in these movements are good people with honest motives who live in the moment. They believe deeply in the truth and value of their ideologies. And these beliefs form the basis of an ever growing and ominous threat to our way of life. They are ignorant, inexperienced and are unaware of the lessons of history. Don’t give them your vote.
