My Candidacy

I've plagued you with political diatribes for years. They always attempt to point out lies and false narratives in the political agenda.  Then I thought "Do I really understand their agenda?" So, in an attempt to clarify my understanding, I wrote a speech that a far-left Democratic candidate for political office would give. Read it with the assumption that the candidate represents a far-left Democrat.

My Candidacy

Good evening People and welcome. And a special welcome to any and all identity groups here tonight – African Americans, Hispanics, LGBTQ, immigrants, the poor, feminists, pro-choice, and all those suffering discrimination. It is a distinct pleasure to be here tonight and address your grievances. You and I know that the so called promise of this country is hollow, false, and that’s why I’m here. I want to chart a new path for this country: a transformation, a rethinking, a new direction that frees us from the worn out, false and biased rules of the past. I want to question the antiquated words and restrictions of the Constitution. I want to modify it so it meets the ever changing needs and demands of diversity, equity and inclusion. Too often now we are restricted by words penned 250 years ago; words designed by self-seeking old white men to ride the backs of slaves and steal the land from the true native Americans. Too often now we are restricted by the Constitution’s narrow focus.

Let us clear up some misconceptions about this country’s founding, structure, and progress. The 1619 Project, by Nikole Hannah-Jones, tells us that American history really began in 1619 with the arrival of a ship of enslaved Africans, one year before the Mayflower. Note that the New York Times supports this historic narrative. This history, correctly narrative, argues that the American prosperity we know today was largely built by enslaved black Africans. Isn’t it proper that we owe those slaves and their progeny a long delayed and disguised debt of gratitude? Shouldn’t this debt be supported by reparations to those Blacks that built this country? For too long the credit for building this country has been exclusively given to white Europeans. This misappropriation of credit has resulted in an overarching instantiation of white supremacy. This white supremacy results in all advantages being given to whites in jobs, politics, and thought leadership.

I know what “White Entitlement” means. It means that whites are entitled to privileged positions, first considerations and the wink and the nod. Certainly, this was true some many years ago.  I was there when blacks and whites showed up for the same job. But this entitlement lingers on. “Excuse me. Blacks and people of color please go to the back of the line.” White Privilege” is similar to “White Entitlement” in that the society is structured to the benefit of the white population. There is a difference in that “entitlement” means that it is the white person’s due, it is pre-ordained, it will happen, that’s the way it is. “Privilege” on the other hand means that the person is first in line due to connections, the right school, the right circles or parental influence. Sadly, Jim Crow is still alive. When will all the nation building accomplishments of the Black Identity erase the conflict of “entitlement” among the races?

We hear a lot these days about a “crisis” at our Southern border. This “crisis” is promoted by white racists who strongly object to a sizeable number of non-whites seeking refuge in this country.  I believe that a person’s right to live anywhere they want is a Natural right. There should be no laws or conventions restricting a human’s desire, or right, to live here, there, or anywhere on the face of this planet. If a person is suffering for whatever reason in the place of their birth, then they have a right to move and be accepted in a place of their choice. And it is incumbent on the citizens of this selected place to share their largesse with the immigrants.

Do not shrug off predictions of a near term climate disaster. Haven’t you witnessed the increase in tornados, cyclones, hurricanes, forest fires, tsunamis, and other natural disasters? Our greedy and self-centered use of fossil fuels is fueling this impending disaster. The total elimination of fossil fuels and the substitution of energy renewables is a must. President Biden recognized this imperative with pipeline cancellations, regulations on energy permits, the Green New Deal, and the total support of electric vehicles. Initial suffering, inflation, and rising prices are a small price to pay for saving this planet and all who live on it. Note that many correct thinking young people are foregoing having children for fear that they will die in a cataclysm of rising temperatures, drought, and chaos.

Man, woman, boy, girl. These are archaic categories designed to reject gender fluidity. How many times have you seen a little boy wanting to wear his mother’s shoes? How many times have you seen the appellation “tomboy” given to a girl? Why aren’t these signals given purchase; these signals that they reject the random birth signal of male/female realities?  We should be aware of these gender rejections and respond with physiological, medical, and surgical answers to their pre-puberty needs. The presence of a penis or a vagina should not influence the perceived gender desires of a prepubescent child.

I do not want to invade anyone’s mental space and neither should you. An offhand comment casting aspersions on someone’s race, gender, appearance, affiliations, desires, or inclinations is out of bounds. So also, is the rejection of the names or pronouns used to address them. You have no right to violate or question their reality. You must stand by and honor their perception of reality even if you strongly object.  You must ignore the idea that there are objective truths that structure a working society. You must shrug off the narrow dictates of family, religion, and freedom. You must accept the idea that everyone’s individual or identity truth must stand inviolate and that questioning it will lead to chaos. You must ignore any comedy that highlights racial quirks. Do not make anybody feel bad in favor of a cheap laugh.

A word on traditional values. “traditional” means that something, over time, has been established as true. It means that we should conduct our lives and government by what has worked in the past. How shortsighted is this? Change surrounds us.  What was true yesterday is not true today. Human nature and our physical surroundings change over time. Objectivity, the unchanging nature of things, is a myth. The family as the basis of a functional society, individual freedom as required in the affairs of men, the expression of religious morality in the daily workings of our lives – all these ideas are suspect and should give way to the postmodern enlightenment of the mind. A suspect God and his dictates must give way to the secular decrees of man’s unerring mind.

I believe that a true world order, a rules-based world order, is in the offing. No longer should “America First” be a rallying cry in this country. In a true universal world government, there is no room for a country that stands above others. We should be nothing more than “One among equals”.  We should give control to a group of elite and proven individuals who know how to make all 7 billion of us equal, who know how to instill equity, diversity and inclusion into all that we do. We should accept Plato’s concept of an all wise, all just Philosopher King, who will lead us to an earthly Utopia. You will never find this leader in the MAGA crowd. These are terrorists who would destroy democracy as we recently saw in the Jan 6 insurrection.
